Online Coaching

It’s fair to say distance training has become a valuable option for many people who are unable to work with me in person.

I consider training remotely to be hugely reliant on communication and clarity.  That’s why training with me online is quite a bit different than other “online programs”. I resisted the online training world for a long time.  I viewed it as too many coaches offering a program every few weeks, with a few vague email touch ins, at best.  At its worst, it’s a never-ending cycle of 30-day challenges, cleanses, gimmicks, and a whole world of empty promises.

I want to do a good job as a trainer.  My goal is to help people feel, perform and look better, and I believe the system I use works just as well remotely as it does for my in-person clients.

How it Works

  1. Reach out.  Because I work with a wide variety of backgrounds and goals, there is no generic set of questions I can set up in a form.  Through a good conversation or video chat we can go everything from your current goals, your exercise background, injury history, nutrition needs, and anything else we need to go over, like me telling you how cute my dogs and kid are.

  2. From there, if it’s a good fit, I will work on the initial plan.  I use a free easy-to-use software to deliver and track workouts, upload videos, etc.  While we get going on that, I like to stay in touch as needed to make any early changes, additions, subtractions, to the program to make sure it’s working great for you.

  3. I like to keep regular communication and get a decent number of videos to make sure we are doing things well and progressing.  We pick exercises for a reason, so doing it right vs wrong does matter.  I want to make sure everything is being done in the safest and most effective way.

  4. Check-ins are a lot more frequent at the beginning and when you get new workouts, but I like to be available as you progress through the program.

I have a 3-month minimum, the same as my gym training.  Results take time, and like I said, I’m not in the quick fix for the money business.

I don’t view my job as being a drill sergeant, far from it.  However, I do put a lot of thought and time into the programs and coaching I deliver remotely, so I expect the same from the people I work with.
